Warriors fall short to Jr Knights
The U15 Stratford Warriors sponsored by @ForeEveryoneGolf continued their regular season play last night hosting last seasons AA Champions, the London Jr Knights Green.
Starting goalie Cowyn Baker debuted a custom designed mask to honour cancer survivors, remember those who have lost their lives to the disease and to support those who continue to fight the fight. Bravo Cowyn!
The Warriors battled the Jr Knights throughout the first period. The Warriors adapted well to a fast paced game. Baker made several great saves to keep period one scoreless.
The Jr Knights opened the scoring early in the second period, and followed up with another, giving them a 2-0 lead. The Warriors dug deep and answered back with two goals to end the period 2-2. Scorers were Rylan DeBoeck, assisted by Cole Hishon and Finley Newton; Ty Wheeler assisted by Owen Blackburn.
The Jr Knights scored shortly after puck drop in the third period, edging them 3-2 over the Warriors. The Warriors continued to attack throughout the remainder of the third period. They were unable to capitalize on a late power play, and fell short at the buzzer.
Next up: The U15 Stratford Warriors will host the Brantford 99ers Sunday October 9th at 630pm - Allman Arena
