Warriors split Thanksgiving Weekend
On Saturday Oct 7th, the Stratford Warriors hosted Warrior Day with all 13 league teams playing at home throughout the day.

The U16 Stratford Warriors sponsored by the Fighting Irish Hockey Club, hosted the St Thomas Jr Stars. Jake Taylor tended Stratford net. The Warriors found themselves fighting from behind after a quick goal by the Jr Stars within the first 30 seconds of the first period. Stratford found their groove and added 2 by the end of the first. Goal scores were Owen Chambers and Rylan Deboeck. Starting the 2nd period tied 2-2, the Warriors inched ahead adding 2 goals, both scored by Colten Brenzil. Unfortunately, Stratford could not hold on to the lead, and fell short in the 3rd period. The Jr Stars ended the game with a 6-4 win over the Warriors.

On Sunday, Stratford traveled to Sarnia to face off against last season's rivals. Sporting his pink Breast Cancer Awareness helmet was Stratfords netminder Cowyn Baker. Although Sarnia opened the scoring, Stratford fought back and added goals to the scoreboard, one after another. Stratford defeated the Sarnia Sting 7-3. Brenzil and newcomer Hudson Gordon both netted their first hat tricks of the season.  Defenceman Rowan Bartlett also added to the scoresheet.

The Warriors will hit the road again later this week to face off against the London Jr Knights Green.

Go Warriors!
