The Stratford Warrior’s INSURANCE CENTRAL Minor PeeWee MD’s started the season on the right foot Tuesday, defeating a feisty North London team 4-2 at the Molson Pad.
Ten different players saw the score-sheet as the Warriors rolled to a 4 – 0 lead after 2 periods. A bit of sloppy defensive zone coverage over a 25 second span early in the 3rd allowed London right back in the game however Stratford weathered London’s 3rd period attack and sealed the game with some strong penalty killing while short-handed to end the match.
Goals were scored by Simon Northmore (Liam Westman, Michael Cossey), Connor Franke (Chase Windsor, Noah Patton), Jacob Ney (Sean Dolan), and Nathan Ferguson (Anthony Gioia). Jacob Ford and Jeremy Wickenheiser where strong sharing the goaltending duties. Special mention is extended to Cole McKay, Joel Niezen and Sean Dolan who were playing their 1st games in a Warriors’ uniform.
