Stratford
hosted Sarnia on Saturday evening and came out on top with a 3-1 victory. It
took until the second period before Ali McLeod picked up the spoils of a strong
net drive by Callan Ferguson. Kaden Eybergen notched another off passes from
Scott Thornton and Cohen LeSouder. The Warriors went up by three after McLeod
scored her second of the night assisted by linemate Noah Rusen-Steele. Tyler
Pogson was solid on defence and Matthew Whittemore had a strong game up front.
Hardy Westman had another solid outing between the pipes.
On Sunday, the Oakridge Aeros travelled to Stratford where they met a determined group of Warriors. The Aeros were defeated 3-0 in a well played game that had a play-off feel. The first two periods solved nothing, as both teams exchanged scoring chances. Stratford eventually capitalized on the games only power play, when Mitchell LaFay bulged the twine late in the third. Adam Monteith made no mistake grabbing a Jared LeSouder rebound and putting it behind the Oakridge tender. Aly McLeod got an insurance goal minutes later as Ryan Bell went on to record the shutout. The defence played a great game with all forwards back-checking hard in a well rounded team performance. With two weeks left in regular season play, the Warriors sit alone atop the Bristol A division.
