The
Holloway Minor Atoms continued their winning ways, taking two victories this
weekend. Goaltenders Ryan Bell and Hardy Westman were focused and solid in net,
allowing only three goals combined as the Warriors outscored their opponents 10-3.
Stratford hosted second place St. Thomas on Saturday night at the Allman. The Warriors got off to a slow start, finding themselves down two goals at the end of the first. The Warriors heard the wake-up call, composed themselves, and battled back with six unanswered goals. Goal scorers included Noah Rusen-Steele(2), Mitchell LaFay(2), Callan Ferguson and Adam Windsor. Assists went to Matthew Whittemore(2), Riley Mathieson, Adam Monteith, Kaden Eybergen, Tyler Pogson and Windsor. Riley Mathieson and Alex Cassone each played a strong game on the blueline.
Superbowl Sunday found the Warriors in Kitchener facing the Junior Rangers. Excellent puck movement highlighted this game as Stratford took it 4-1. The forward line of Mitchell LaFay, Adam Monteith and Jared LeSouder combined for 8 points before Noah Rusen-Steele sealed the deal off a Callan Ferguson pass. Bryce Lee and Cohen LeSouder were solid on the back end while Scott Thornton played a strong two way game. The Warriors have two games remaining in the regular season before the start of playoffs.
