Game Report December 14 and 17
After a lengthy lay-off, the Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors returned to action and collected three of a possible four points on the road.
In Cambridge, Stratford showed some rust but still managed to come out on top 2-1 in a physical game against the Hawks. Clayton Lewis had one goal and Dalton Smith had one goal and one assist. Ryan Lay played a strong game in net for the win. Taking on the first place Bandits in London, the Warriors found themselves down by one only 13 seconds into the game. After falling behind by two, Stratford closed the gap when Nathan Hall scored from Bradley Kraemer late in the second. London restored their two goal lead halfway through the third, but a power play goal by Jarrett Baker from Lewis and Hall set the stages for a thrilling finish. With their net empty, Stratford used the extra attacker to swarm the London net, but were not able to score. Offsetting penalties brought a face-off to the left of the London goal with only 3.7 seconds to play. Jarrett Baker won the draw towards the net and in the wild scramble Brody Hunt was able to flip the puck past the goalie just as the final buzzer sounded for a 3-3 tie. Hall earned an assist on the play. Justin Hergott helped preserve the tie in net.
