Minor Bantams win Toronto Tournament
The Stratford Cherrey Bus Lines Minor Bantams won the annual "Escape the Blues" hockey tournament in Toronto this past week end. Despite being shorthanded with injuries, Stratford outscored their opponents 14-4.

Game 1 saw Stratford score late in the game to come away with a 3-3 tie vs the Duffield Devils. Shaun Pickering, James Wilson, and Colton Fountain scored for Stratford while Devon Feltz added 2 assists and Dalton carde, Trey Uniac, Fountain and Wilson each drew an assist. Braydon McCann stood tall in net. Pickering earned game MVP for Stratford. Game 2 saw Ben Merkel turn aside 26 Amesburg Attack shots to earn the win and shut out in a 2-0 win. Fountain and Pickering each had a goal and an assist while Parker Wamboldt and Feltz each assisted. Wamboldt earned MVP honours. McCann picked up the 2nd shutout for Stratford as they defeated the Toronto Avalanche 6-0. Luke Goris was game MVP for Stratford scoring 1 goal and collecting 4 assists. Carde added 2 goals and 2 assists while Pickering , Wilson and Fountain each added a goal. Mack Rankin, Kelton Frey and Jarren Ball each chipped in with an assist. Stratford faced Port Credit in the final and once again showed true team grit and effort as they skated away with a 3-1 victory. McCann was beat early but was strong to the end to earn the victory. Fountain tied the game midway through the 2nd period on a wrap around play assisted by Clay and Frey. Goris scored the eventual game winner with 4 minutes to play on a nice cross ice pass from Clay and Jarett Bogdon. Pickering then scored 30 seconds later to secure the victory with Bogdon and Fountain earning assists. With 3 defencemen, Riley Walsh (elbow), Andy Brickman (chest), and Spencer Dowd (vacation) unable to play, the defence core of Bogdon, Clay, Feltz and Ball were solid all week end for Stratford.
