The Stratford Royal LePage Hiller Realty Minor PeeWee Warriors opened their season on Saturday with a 4-2 loss at home to The Brantford 99er's. The Warriors fell behind 2-0 in the first period but found their legs in the second when Carter Lewis sent a clearing pass to Dominic Boon who then found linemate Curtis Eidt breaking through the middle all alone and sent a wrist shot to the back of the net. Stratford evened the game when Jared Searles kept the puck in the Brantford end and slid a pass over to Hayden Arms who crashed to the front of the net and Dylan Hall scooped up the rebound and roofed the puck into the top of the net. Goalie Spencer Lazarevich made several big saves in the third period but Brantford scored two late goals in the third to take the win.

The Warriors traveled to St. Thomas on Sunday and skated away with a well earned 2-1 win on a solid team effort. Stratford was behind 1-0 heading into the second period but tied the game up on a solo effort from David Shantz who tapped in a loose puck. Charlie Rankin gave the Warriors the lead on a pass from Everett Hawkins. The Warriors played good defensive hockey in the third period to preserve the win. Spencer Lazarevich was outstanding in backstopping the Warriors first win of the season.
