A tie was all that was required for the Stratford Nes-Tech Minor Peewee MD Warriors to advance to the West Alliance finals, and they did just that, with a scoreless tie against the London Nationals Wednesday night in London.
Goaltender Jarod Fleming was the difference in the game, making several big saves including a penalty shot midway through the second period. It was a stellar two way performance by the entire Warrior squad, especially the defensive core of Mac Starkebaum, Brett Maguire, Josh Bossence, Eric Van Nes, Kobe Robinson and Kiran Wotherspoon.
Stratford takes the series 4 points to 2 in three games, which all went to overtime, and will now face Sarnia for the league championship.
