Working Hard
Stratford’s Hockey Training Above Tier III Novices demonstrated solid play over their past three games. On Thursday night they travelled to London to face the West London Hawks White. Despite losing 11-1, the team played very well. Owen Gaylor scored for Stratford, assists going to Ryan Haines and Jesse Merkel.
The team faced a strong London Nationals minor on Saturday and worked hard in their 10-5 loss. Isaac Nickel scored three goals with singles going to Owen Gaylor and Ryan Haines. Marek Carter recorded an assist. Colton Kuepfer and Quinn Appel played well. Daniel Rusen-Steele made some great saves in net.
On Sunday Stratford hosted St. Thomas in an exhibition game. Hard work and determination led to an 8-1 victory for the team. Ryan Haines and Isaac Nickel each had 3 goals. Gabe Emms had a goal and two assists while Owen Gaylor had a goal and an assist. Also contributing were Jesse Merkel with two assists, Colton Kuepfer, Quinn Appel, and Brett Knechtel each with one. Owen Gaylor worked hard at both ends of the ice and Eric Haynes and Kaleb Martin played well on defense.
