The Hishons Custom Tier 1 Warriors defeated the
Sarnia Junior Sting on Saturday 5 to 2.
Owen Holloway scored his first goal as a Warrior with 1:16 remaining in the first period to take the 1-0 lead. Then, with his usual tenacity, Holloway scored his second goal in a scramble in front of the net early in the third. The Warriors went ahead 3 to 0 on a goal by Ethan Martin midway through the period. Goalie James Hopper was playing a strong game in net and looked to be on his way to another shutout when an unfortunate rebound went on a Sarnia stick and the wobbly shot managed to just slip past his outstretched foot and inside the post. Jonas Schmidt scored 2 nice goals to make it 5 to 1. Sarnia got one more with 32 seconds remaining to finish the scoring at 5 to 2.
Schmidt, Holloway, Martin, and Haden Frayne all got assists.
