Warriors tie Oakridge 3-3
Stratford Royal Lepage Hiller Realty minor peewee Warriors travelled to London Saturday afternoon to face the Oakridge Aeros where they battled to a 3-3 tie.

Jared Lesouder opened the scoring on the powerplay with two minutes to play in the first period working a nice give and go down low with Mitch LaFay and bulging the twine with a hard wrist shot. Oakridge tied the game shorthanded early in the second period capitalizing on a Warrior turnover but Mason Petrie put his team ahead by one again three minutes later taking a nice feed from Adam Windsor and firing home a low drive.

The Aeros came back with their second goal of the game late in the second period before Petrie hooked up with Windsor again, taking a pass just inside the Oakridge zone and beat the goalie with a nice backhand goal.

Oakridge battled back for a third time scoring the tying goal on the powerplay and threatened to win when they were awarded two more man advantage opportunities in the last six minutes, but the resilient Warriors dug in and killed both penalties to earn the tie.

The Warriors are rounding into form and look forward to the upcoming tournament in Guelph this week end.
