Hard Fought Loss to the Bandits
Stratford Royal Lepage Hiller Realty minor peewees lost a hard fought 3-2 game playing through sickness and short players to the London Bandits Friday evening.
After a strong start, Aly McLeod opened the scoring for the Warriors from Mitch LaFay and Mason Petrie with three minutes left in the first period. Stratford carried the play well into the second period but had a mental lapse that lasted just under a minute costing them two goals against. McLeod answered back with her second goal of the game taking a feed high in the slot and ripping a wrist shot over the goalie's shoulder from Callum McMann who sealed the boards and kept the puck in the Bandits zone.
The Bandits scored with five minutes remaining to retake the lead and despite several good chances resulting from good puck pressure the Warriors were unable to score the tying goal. Bryce Lee and Josh Dowling were strong on defence while Adam Windsor, Raymond Horan, and Kaden Eybergen displayed good hustle up front throughout the game.
