Streak Continues
The Stratford Nes-Tech Warriors dropped a pair of games this week to see their winless streak run to nine games.
The Warriors lost 7-0 to a strong London Bandits Black team but bounced back with one of their strongest efforts of the season in a 4-0 loss to the West London Hawks in Alliance West action on Wednesday evening in London. Matthew Whittemore, playing on a new line with Garrett Culliton and Tyler Gibb, rang the post twice in the first period, however, the game remained scoreless after one. Goaltender Cieran Diebolt made several stellar saves before the Hawks were finally able to beat him on a goal mouth scramble early in the second period. Scotty Thornton, playing his first game at the center position, turned in a solid performance while Braeden White and Riley Mathieson turned in strong defensive games. Next action for Stratford is at home on Sunday when they face the Sarnia Sting. Game time is 4:30pm at Molson Arena.
