Outstanding Effort Leads to Tie
The Stratford Nes-Tech Warriors got an outstanding effort in goal from Ezra Lee to help backstop the Warriors to a 2-2 tie versus the West London Hawks in Alliance West hockey action last night. Stratford got on the board first on a pretty penalty shot goal by Scotty Thornton who deked the Hawks goalie to the stick side and slid the puck into the open cage. London came back on a couple of quick second period goals to take the lead, before Connor Hill converted on a nifty two on one break to bring Stratford back into a tie. From there both goalies turned away glorious scoring opportunities to preserve the tie. Stratford got a solid effort on defense from Riley Mathieson and Gabe Plain and Thornton, Ben Wyatt and Tyler Guy led a strong forecheck up front for the Warriors.
