The Stratford Canadian Tire Bantam Warriors played two
exciting games this past week, both playing out completely different scenarios
but both resulting in tie games.
Against the Kitchener Jr. Rangers, the Warriors battled the entire game only to be turned away on every shot, until with just under a minute to go and the extra attacker on the ice, Nathan Hall was able to poke home the puck, with assists from Nathan Ferguson and Tyreese Harrison and a 1-1 tie. Kyle Morning’s excellent goaltending was the difference in keeping Stratford in the game, setting up for the crowd-pleasing finish. In their next game against the Cambridge Hawks, The Tiremen staked themselves to a first period 4-0 lead in the penalty-filled affair, only to see Cambridge score 4 unanswered of their own and a 4-4 draw. Again, the strong play in net for Stratford kept the Hawks from stealing the victory. Jacob Ford turned away a number of late-game chances to preserve the point for Stratford. Lighting the lamp for the Warriors were Logan Bell, Brett Denny, Hunter James and Nathan Hall. Chipping in with assists were Devon Carter with two, Nathan Ferguson, Carson Dunseith and Dalton Smith.
