The Stratford Holloway Automotive Minor Atom Rep team hosted two games on the weekend after qualifying for the Constellation 'AA' division the previous weekend.
On Saturday, the Warriors hosted the Kitchener Jr. Rangers who entered the game as the second placed team in the Constellation division with a 9-2-1 record. The Warriors skated out to a 2-0 lead in the second period, relying on solid team defense and an aggressive forecheck. In the third period, the Rangers scored three times to the Warriors two goals, making the final 4-3 for the Warriors and improved their record to 7-5-1 in regular season play. The Warrior goalie made several key saves throughout the game and the 5 players on the ice cleared the front of the net, keeping the Kitchener offensive attack in check.
On Sunday, the Warriors hosted the St. Thomas Jr. Stars for a rare Sunday evening game at the Allman arena. St. Thomas opened the scoring in the first and took a 1-0 lead into the second period. The Warriors answered in the middle frame with two goals to the Jr. Stars lone tally. In the third, the Warriors failed to take advantage of the opportunity to 'win the period, win the game' with St. Thomas scoring four times including one into an empty Warrior net in the final minute.
