Guelph Tournament Round-Up
The Stratford Holloway Automotive Minor Atom reps participated in the Guelph Powerplay Tournament this past weekend. The Warriors were entered into the 'AA' division, affording the team the opportunity to compete against some very strong opponents.

On Friday, the Warriors played two games- playing their opening game against the Orangeville Flyers and later facing the host team, Guelph Gryphons.

Against Orangeville, the Warriors were able to get out to a lead and never looked back. A strong forecheck kept the Flyers pinned in their own end for much of the contest. When called upon the Warrior defense pushed any attackers to the outside lanes and allowed their goalie to make the save. The final score was 6-3 for the Warriors. In the second game of the day, the Warriors surrendered the first goal and found themselves trailing throughout the contest. With the score 4-2 late in the third period, the Warriors pulled their goalie in favor of the extra attacker. Guelph eventually scored into the empty net and added two more in the final minute to make the final 7-2 for the Gryphons.

On Saturday, the Warriors faced fellow Alliance opponents the Waterloo Wolves, who had defeated the Warriors in Seeded play just a couple weeks prior. The Warriors jumped out to another lead and the Warriors fought their way back to make the score 5-4 late in the game and trail by a single marker. The Wolves added an empty net goal to make the final 6-4. In the final round robin game, the Warriors faced an undefeated Eastern Ontario Cobras team. The Warriors scored the lone goal of the opening period and took a 1-0 lead into the second frame. The Cobras came out of their huddle and swiftly scored 4 goals in the opening 3 minutes of the period and never looked back defeating the Warriors 9-1.

The Warriors return to Alliance Constellation 'AA' league play this weekend with two games.
