Weekend Sweep
The Stratford Cherrey Bus Lines Warriors have started the New Year off on the right foot, taking a pair of games in Minor Bantam A Alliance play this past weekend.

Saturday in Stratford, goals scored by Mac Starkebaum and Carter Lewis within a 26 second span in the third period, broke a 1-1 tie in leading Stratford to a 3-1 win over the first place Burlington Bulldogs. Dylan Hall and Tyson Hall assisted on the Starkebaum tally, while Joel DenOtter had the lone helper on Lewis' goal, with some strong corner play. Josh Smith had the first Warrior goal, on a goal mouth scramble, with Tyson Hall notching his second assist of the game. The entire Warrior defensive corps were solid throughout, solidified further by goaltender Quinton Duncan, who made several key saves for Stratford.

Stratford travelled to London for a Sunday matinee, where Joel DenOtters three point performance led the Warriors to a 4-2 win over the host Jr. Mustangs. Warrior goal scorers were DenOtter, Brett Maguire, Luke Marcy and Everett Hawkins, with helpers going to Josh Smith, Brendan Moorehead, and Connor Otto. DenOtter had two assists to round out the scoring. The Warrior defence was stellar once again, back stopped by steady play from netminder Owen Hahn. The team leads the league with 45 goals against, while the next closest team has allowed 26 goals more, over the 24 games played to date. Captain Hayden Arms strong play continued over the weekend.
