John MacDonald Tournament
On Friday October 17th The SCI Contractors Stratford Warriors Minor Bantam MD Team traveled to St. Catherines for the John MacDonald Memorial Tournament with the Warriors facing the Brampton Bears for their first game of the tournament.  


The Brampton Bears came out hard taking the lead at 6:40 of the 1st period.  Stratford tied it up just a minute and 30 seconds later with a goal from Ryan Lott assisted by Jared  Searles.  Brampton went ahead a minute later but the Warriors found their legs by the second half of the 1st period and out hustled the Bears ending the 1st period out shooting the Bears 12 to 6 but down 2 to 1.  Stratford came out on fire in the 2nd period getting 2 quick goals in the first 2 minutes.  Goals came from Ethan Reid and David Shantz.  The Warriors followed this up with 2 more goals to finish the 2nd period from Shantz and Jake Emerson. The Stratford Warriors continued their scoring prowess with 2 more unanswered goals in the third. Caelen Everleigh scored the first assisted by Lott and Ethan Biggs while Jake Emerson got his second goal of the day on a breakaway from a leading pass from Reid.  The final score was 7 2 with Stratford outshooting Brampton 30 to 24. The Warriors next face the Woodstock Jr Navy Vets on Saturday October 18 at Jack Gatecliff Arena.
