Tie Bulldogs 3-3
Written by Dave Graff.  The SMHA Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep team played twice in recent days and after running off five straight Alliance Bristol league wins the Warriors now find themselves winless in three after a loss and tie.

Saturday in Burlington the visiting Warriors came flying out of the gates getting first period goals from Maverick Mulder and Zach Carman to take an early 2-0 lead. Sydnie Miller, Owen Duiker, Jack Whitehead and Caleb Musselman picked up assists on the opening goals.  During a Bulldog power play in period two, Caleb Musselman made a great steal at the Stratford blue line, cruised down ice on the break away and made no mistake, deking the Burlington goaltender for the shorthanded tally increasing the Warrior lead to 3-0.  Despite the home side having only eight shots through two periods, they picked up the pace in the third period firing 10 shots at Stratford goalie Dailey Trainor. A break away goal and a power play goal brought the home side within one in the closing minutes. Then with around one minute to play and the Bulldog netminder on the bench the home team banged in the equalizer, this one ending in a 3-3 tie.

The previous Saturday in Kitchener the Warriors fired 23 shots at the Ranger net but could only manage to find the back of the net once, a first period goal by Josh Nixon off a nifty pass from Erik Smith. The home team chipped away over the final two periods and were able to capitalize on two of their 15 shots sending the Stratford boys home with a 2-1 loss. With two regular season games left this coming weekend the Warriors are just one point back of first place and only four points clear of seventh in the tight Bristol standings.
