Weekend Split
The Stratford Canadian Tire Major Bantam Warriors earned a split in the first two games of the Alliance A playoff finals against the St. Thomas Stars this past weekend, dropping the series opener Saturday in Stratford 3-1, but bouncing back Sunday afternoon in St. Thomas with a 5-1 win.

Ethan Scrimgeour was the lone Stratford goal scorer Saturday at the RBC arena, tipping in a Brett Maguire point shot late in the opening frame. The game stayed tied at 1 till the 4 minute mark of the final frame when St. Thomas scored the game winner, followed by an empty netter late in the game to make the final score 3-1.

It was a much different story Sunday as the Warriors jumped out to a 4-0 lead just three minutes into the second period in their 5-1 game two win. Goal scorers for Stratford were Caelen Eveleigh, Carter Lewis, Joel DenOtter, Josh Smith and Scrimgeour.  Smith, DenOtter, Eveleigh, Lewis, Dylan Hall and Trent Zorgdrager all had assists in the Stratford victory, which knotted the six point final series at 2 points each.

Game 3 is Tuesday night at 7:00 at the Molson arena.
