Good Start to 2017
The Perth Auto Dismantlers Major Atoms earned 3 of 4 points in their first two games of the New Year.
The team hosted the Burlington Bulldogs this past Sunday and beat them 9-1. The line of Ryan Haines, Mark Pyzowski, and Nathan Gibb led the way with a combined total of 13 points. Nathaniel Smith, Quinn Appel, and Ethan Plotnik each had one goal. Assists were earned by Marek Carter, Colten Kuepfer, Brett Knechtel, Gabe Emms, Beckham McLeod, and Jackson Grasby. Koen Gerber earned the win in net.

On Tuesday night they faced off against the Sarnia Sting Jr, a team the Warriors struggled against earlier in the year. The boys fell behind 2-0 in the first period but quickly turned things around. By the second period, Haines and Smith had each scored goals to tie the game 2-2. Sarnia then replied, making it 3-2. Haines scored his second of the game, once again evening the score, 3-3. Plotnik put the team up 4-3, and again Sarnia replied, making it 4-4. Pyzowski scored Stratford's fifth goal, once again allowing the team to take the lead. Sarnia pulled their goalie late in the third and were able to tie the game, 5-5.
Stratford's assists were earned by Pyzowski, Haines, Gibb, Knechtel, Appel and McLeod. Kaleb Martin played well defensively and Sam Pepper created turnovers offensively. Goaltender Jesse Merkel made some key saves.
