Gaylor Athlete Of The Year
Tate Gaylor of the SMHA Minor Midgets has been awarded Male Athlete of the Year by the Stratford Minor Sports Council.

Tate Gaylor on winning Male Athlete of the Year:

It was an honour just to be nominated,” he said. “There’s a bunch of great athletes, and they were nominated, so just really happy.”

Having turned 17 last month, Gaylor recently added to his resume by winning an Alliance single-A title with the Startford Jr. Warriors major midgets. He also had a successful high school year with St. Mike’s.

I think I work hard and am a good team player, help my team out and just try to work as hard as I can and be the best I can be,” he said.

Gaylor thanked his parents and coaches for their help over the years.

My parents always pushed me to get to practice and work hard,” he said. “Same with my coaches. They always pushed me to the next level and made sure I’m the best I can be.

(The award) definitely motivates me to keep working hard and try to do something post-secondary.”
