Novice T1 Warriors Just Miss Championship Berth
The Stratford Hishon’s Custom Embroidery Novice T1 Warriors competed in the Fort Erie Meteors Tournament this past weekend and just missed the chance to play in the championship game.

The Warriors opened up the tournament with an 11-0 thrashing of tournament hosts Fort Erie.  Net minder Hardy Westman earned the shutout.  Tyler Hotson scored four goals and tallied two assists to pace the Warriors, while Kayden Schooley added three goals and an assist of his own.   Defenceman Tate Gaylor scored his first goal of the season and added an assist. Adam Monteith, Aly McLeod and Zac McCann added single goals, with the other assists going to Bryce Lee, Matthew Whittemore and McCann.

In the second round robin game, the Warriors fell to Amherstburg 7-3, Whitemore scored in the first period to tie it up, while Hotson, and McCann set each other up for a goal apiece.

In the last round robin game, the Warriors tied Port Perry 4-4, enough to send the Warriors into the semi finals in fourth place. Zac McCann logged the hat trick, with the assists to Hotson.  Aly McLeod scored the other goal, with the assist Schooley. Westman played well in net.

In semi final action, the Warriors lost a heartbreaker in sudden death OT 5-4.  The Warriors lead 4-2 in the third period but were unable to stop a late push from Amerhurstburg sending the game to overtime.  Goalie Ryan Bell made some key saves and Defenceman Callan Ferguson played an excellent game.  Tyler Hotson, Aly McLeod, Jared LeSouder, and Riley Mathieson scored goals.  McCann and Schooley each picked up to assists, while Tyler Pogson and Whittemore had an assist each.
