The Stratford A.J. Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD Warriors defeated the first place Sarnia Jr Sting 3-1 on Friday night in Sarnia. The Warriors fell behind 1-0, but Jake Emerson tied the game up with major novice call up Tyler Hotson picking up the assist. The Warriors scored again late in the first period to take the lead 2-1 on a wrist shot from Austin Taylor assisted by Patrick McIsaac. Stratford picked up an insurance goal in the second period from a backhanded shot by Emerson on a nice feed from Hotson. Goalie Liam McCann made numerous saves in backstopping the win.
The defence of Kiran Wotherspoon, Eric Van Nes, Isaac Lobsinger, Mac Starkebaum, Josh Bossence and Kobe Robinson all played well defensively in the win. Forward Keagan Goforth played well at both ends of the ice for the Warriors.
