Atoms Split weekend games
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Atoms ended up splitting their two weekend home games. On Saturday the Warriors took to the ice against a strong Kitchener Ranger team and managed a 4 – 2 victory.

A wild first period saw Stratford rally from a 2 goal deficit and tie the score on a nice wrap around backhand by Dean Jackson and a well placed shot from the point by Zach Otto. The teams traded chances in the scoreless second period as Tyler Parr kept the Rangers off the board with some key saves including a huge paddle save off a breakaway. Defenseman Malcolm McLeod was his energetic self and provided timely checking to compliment his strong rushes. Stratford took the lead they would not relinquish on a nice goal by the hot Michael Messerschmidt and a strong rush by Sean Chisholm who was sprung by an excellent feed off the stick of Haydn Shantz. Some late penalty trouble made the finish quite interesting, but the Warriors were able to prevail. On Sunday the results were not as favourable, as a tired looking team did not keep pace with a motivated West London squad who left town with a 3 – 0 victory.
