6-2 win on Tuesday evening
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Atom team needed four third period goals to pull away from a pesky London Bandit squad for a 6-2 win on Tuesday evening.
Stratford started the game strong building a two goal lead into the second period. Haydn Shantz fired a laser wrist shot just under the bar to open the scoring for Stratford, with assists going to Brett Stelmachuk and Michael Messerschmidt. A Messerschmidt goal put Stratford up by two before London came back to knot the score before the end of the second period. Stratford pulled away in the third off of two nice goals from the point, the first by Dean Simons and then by Shantz with his second of the game. Sean Chisholm off a nice feed from Jeremi Carmen and Sam Davey from Max Britton rounded out the scoring. Eric Gibb played strong defensively and chipped in with an assist while Jared James was his consistent self in the net to earn the victory.
