They always say better late than never. The Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors waited until the final game of the regular season to secure first place in their Alliance Bristol division.
A pair of impressive weekend victories sealed the deal. Against the North London Nationals, the Warriors jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 7-1 win. Several players had a multi-point game including Clayton Lewis with a hat-trick and a helper, Michael Cossey, Brody Hunt, and Scott Chisholm with one goal and two assists each, Dalton Smith with three assists, and Justin Beuermann with two assists. Isaiah Duiker added a goal and Bradley Kraemer an assist. Ryan Lay collected the win in net. At home against the West London Hawks and needing the win, Stratford carried over their momentum from the night before and scored an equally convincing 7-2 victory. Nathan Hall (2 G), Hunt (2 G, 1 A), Smith (1 G, 2 A), and Lewis (2 A) helped lead the way. Single markers went to Duiker and call-up Sean Chisholm. Also earning assists were Tyreese Harrison, Beuermann and Kraemer. Call-up Tyler Parr back stopped the win in net. The Warriors now enter quarter-final playoffs against London Oakridge.
