The Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors have advanced to
the Alliance
league semi-finals with a three game sweep of the London Oakridge
Aeros.
The Warriors set the tone for the series in the first game by playing a strong physical game and showing their offensive power, skating to a 5-1 victory. Brody Hunt and Clayton Lewis each collected two goals and Tyreese Harrison had a single. Assists went to Scott Chisholm, Justin Beuermann, Bradley Kraemer, Isaiah Duiker, Michael Cossey, Nathan Hall, Ewen Flanagan, Jarrett Baker and Hunt. In game two, a hot Oakridge goalie kept the Warriors off the board until they struck for two quick goals in the second period and one more in the third for a 3-0 win. Baker had two goals and Lewis one. Hall assisted twice and Harrison once. Facing elimination, the Aeros came out strong in game three and a tight-checking 1-1 game carried on into the second period until the Warriors exploded for five goals. One more tally in the third gave them the series with a 7-1 win. Captain Isaiah Duiker led the attack with a hat-trick and an assist. Other goal scores were Hall (2), Hunt and Chisholm. Also assisting were Minkyu Yang, Smith (2), Lewis (2), Hall and Baker. Goaltenders Justin Hergott and Ryan Lay were strong in net throughout the series.
