Warriors Goebel, Swan and King score big to put Cambridge on the ropes.
Stratford Motor Products Minor Midgets won game 2 of their Playoff series against Cambridge. Sunday afternoon the Warriors defeated the Hawks 5-2 to go ahead 3 points to one in the series. Drew Goebel and Greg Swan had 3 point performances, Goebel with 2 goals and assist, while Swan notched a goal and two assists. Steven King scored twice for the tribe while Matthew Chiocchio, Josh Bickell and Curtis Baker each picked up an assist. Drew Schoonderwoerd stopped Braiden Gudgeon of the Hawks on a penalty shot at 9:02 of the second period that would have put them ahead 3-2. Stratford continued their barrage of shots by outshooting Cambridge 37-18. The 3rd. game in the 4 point series goes Wednesday night 8:15 p.m. at the Rotary Complex.
