Warriors lose 7-3 in quarter-final opener
Stratford Motor Products Minor Midgets opened their quarter-final series Monday night on a losing note. The Warriors travelled to Sarnia and were thumped 7-3 by the Sting. Sarnia led 3-1 after one and 6-2 after 2 periods. Defenceman Ryan Ridley opened the scoring for Stratford with Joe Gioia and Greg Swan rounding out the Warriors goals. Jack Rankin had two assists with Gioia picking up an assist on Ridley's opener. Luke Fraser and Josh Bickell picked up an assist each in the loss. Sarnia outshot Stratford 29-23. The next game in the best 3 of 5 series is at 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Rotary Complex.
