The Stratford Royal LePage Hiller Realty Minor PeeWee Warriors played in the Motown Cup in Detroit, Michigan on the weekend and came away with the silver medal. The Warriors went undefeated in round robin action with two wins and a tie. Stratford headed to the final to play the Willowdale Black Hawks and were defeated in overtime 3-2. The Warriors opened the scoring in the second period on a Jared Searles goal with David Shantz and Everett Hawkins picking up the assists. Stratford held that lead with five minutes to go but Willowdale struck for two quick goals to take the lead. A blast from the point by defenseman Griffin St. Onge forced the game into overtime with three minutes remaining. 

Willowdale scored the winner on a goalmouth scramble with two minutes remaining in the overtime period. Liam McCann was solid in the Warrior net.Stratford won their first game 2-1 against the Grosse Isle Islanders from Detroit. Curtis Eidt scored the first goal with assists to Dominic Boon and Griffin St. Onge. Grosse Isle tied the game early in the second period and goalie Spencer Lazarevich made a huge save late in that period to keep the game tied. Forward Hayden Arms forced his way to the net and deposited the winner unassisted with one minute remaining. In the second game the Warriors faced off against the eventual tournament champion Willowdale Black Hawks and shut them out 3-0. Liam McCann picked up the shutout with David Shantz, Dylan Hall and Dominic Boon finding the back of the net and Jared Searles and Tyler Lingard chipping in with assists. The Warriors faced off against the Mississauga Terriors in the final round robin game and fell behind 1-0 in the first period. The Warriors tied the game with less than two minutes remaining in the game on a power play goal by Curtis Eidt who skated around from behind the net and tucked the puck into the corner of the net. Stratford goalie Spencer Lazarevich was the difference in the game with his best performance of the season.
