The Stratford Royal LePage Hiller Realty Minor PeeWee Warriors edged the London Bandits 5-4 on Saturday in a last shot wins contest. The Warriors trailed 1-0 heading into the second period when Trent Zorgdrager skated in on a breakaway and roofed the puck top shelf to tie the game. London went ahead by a goal with five minutes remaining in the second period but Everett Hawkins evened the score on a blast with David Shantz and Jared Searles assisting. Twenty seconds later Hawkins fired a shot into the back of the net on a feed from Searles. The score remained 3-2 with four minutes remaining in the game when the fireworks began with Rhys Britton tipping in a point shot from Brendan Moorehead with Dominic Boon also assisting.
London scored right away to trail by one and they then pulled their goalie and evened the score with one minute remaining in the game. The Warriors raced down the ice and with forty seconds left on the clock Dylan Hall buried a shot into the net with Searles and Griffin St. Onge adding the helpers to seal the win. Goaltender Spencer Lazarevich picked up the win in net.
