Stratford’s SCI Contractors Minor Bantam MD’s bounced back from a loss on Tuesday night to the Oakridge Aeros to beat them soundly on Wednesday night. Tuesday nights’ game saw the Warriors play at home in a close game. The game was scoreless until the third period when the two teams traded goals at the eight minute mark. Stratford’s goal was scored by Chris Phillips from Carson Dunseith and Chase Windsor. There were many close scoring opportunities for the Warriors but the Oakridge team took the lead at the two minute mark. The Warriors put on the pressure and scored the tying goal at the eight second mark but it was disallowed. The final score was 2-1 for Oakridge.
The next night the team travelled to Oakridge and played with determination coming up with a solid win 3-0. Peter Williams opened the scoring in the second period with helpers going to Nathan Ferguson and Owen Brooks. Halfway through the third Nathan Ferguson scored from Brooks and Jacob Ney. Ferguson got his second goal of the night four minutes later on a shot from centre ice. Steven Tuer earned the assist. Jeremy Wickenheiser posted the shutout!
