Warriors Take a Point in Series Opener
Stratford Royal Lepage Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Warriors opened their second round series in Waterloo Friday evening with a 2-2 tie against the Wolves Gold team.

Starting with a strong forecheck, the Warriors drew the first penalty of the game which they capitalized on four minutes into the game.  Jared Lesouder took a feed from Mitch LaFay on the half wall, split the seam and fired a shot towards the goal that deflected into the net off LaFay who was rewarded for going to the net. Then five minutes into the second period Lesouder collected a puck that was kept in the Wolves zone by Bryce Lee and fed Callum McMann at the point.  McMann moved to the middle of the ice and fired a low shot that beat the Waterloo goalie to extend the lead to 2-0.

Waterloo narrowly escaped going down by three when the Warriors hit the cross bar early in the third period and then showed why they are a first place team answering with two goals of their own.  Overtime solved nothing as the game remained tied at two giving each team a point to open the series.

Callum McMann was a horse on defense playing tons of key minutes while Tyler Pogson jumped into a couple of rushes contributing to the attack well from defense. Adam Windsor and Mason Petrie hustled up front hard while Raymond Horan was determined creating multiple scoring chances throughout the game.
