Warriors win a thriller over Waterloo Gold
Stratford Royal Lepage Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Warriors won a thrilling game two at home Saturday coming from behind twice to take a three points to one lead in the series over Waterloo Wolves gold.

Waterloo jumped out to a two goal lead scoring with a minute left in the first period and again two minutes into the second frame but the Warriors continued to battle hard in front of goalie Carson Knott who made the timely saves to keep the game within reach. His team responded late in the second when Kaden Eybergen found a loose puck on the Wolves doorstep and jammed it home from Alex Cassone and Raymond Horan. Then, early in the third period Adam Monteith found a loose puck on a similar type of scrum and slid the tying goal home from Mitch LaFay and Noah Rusen-Steele.

But with 6:26 left in the game, Waterloo scored a controversial goal with a man standing on top of Knott in the crease that the referees decided to allow after having a conference.  Stratford could have used that as their excuse to lose, but instead used it as motivation as LaFay won a battle on the wall inside the Wolves blueline to Rusen-Steele who broke in off the right wing, waited for the goalie to butterfly and fired the tying goal over his shoulder with 4:11 to play.

Completing the comeback victory, Jared Lesouder rushed down the right side around the defenceman and roofed the winner right under the cross bar with 36 seconds to play from Tyler Pogson and Josh Dowling. The last 36 seconds were successfully defended fiercely by the Warriors who refused to give up another chance in this see-saw battle.

Callum McMann and Bryce Lee played huge in their zone moving the puck up ice well while Kaden Eybergen and Aly McLeod back checked with tenacity throughout the game.
