rep team travelled to Niagara Falls, NY for the Gene Harrington Winter Ice
Experience hockey tournament on the weekend and returned home with a win and
two losses.
The Warriors opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss to the Rochester Americans. After falling behind 1-0 early a Nathan Graff feed out of the Warrior zone to Erik Smith send Smith on his way to the visitors slot where Carter Stock made a great read and buried a Smith rebound to even the score. Unfortunately the Warriors could not muster any more offense and two more Rochester goals rounded out the scoring. In game two the Warrior powerplay was on fire scoring three goals in a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Ice Sharks. Colton Cowen scored two goals for the winners with Ethan Aarts, Smith and Zach Carman adding one each. Carter Musselman had two assists while Carman, Braydon Tinning, Caleb Musselman, Stock, Michael Tigani and Smith added one helper a piece. Dailey Trainor stopped several Cleveland scoring chances early in the game to keep it scoreless until the Warrior offense began to heat up. Looking to go 2-1 and having an outside shot at making the final the Warriors faced the Buffalo Regals in game three but were unable to muster much of an attack, eventually falling 6-2. Aarts and Cowen scored the Stratford goals with Carman, Carter Musselman, Tinning and Graff adding assists.
