Warriors Win in Second OT with 2 seconds Remaining
Submitted By Jody Hefkey on Tue 02 09, 16
Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget Stratford Warriors end their first round of playdowns in an intense battle against London Mustangs Purple. With the series tied at 3 points each, after going 1-1-1 in the first 3 games, the 4th game needed 2 OT periods to decide the winner. With only 2 seconds remaining in the 5th period, Dean Simons scored the only goal of the game! Malachi Albrecht had an outstanding game between the pipes earning another shut out!

Excellent effort by the entire team, they battled hard every shift. Our next Playdown series will be against second place team, Hamilton Huskies. The Minor Midget Warriors have had an exciting season so far. They were finalists in the Waterloo Tournament, won the Regional AA Silver Stick in Stratford, winning against the number one AA ranked team in Ontario. They qualified and played very competitively in the International AA Silver Stick in Newmarket. Regular season play ended with an 11-13-6 record. Looking forward to the next playdown series. GO WARRIORS!
