East Warriors Gain 4 points with 2 Big Weekend Playoff Wins!
The Rheo Thompson East Novice Warriors demonstrated some great team play as they earned 4 points this past weekend defeating both the Burlington Bulldogs and Waterloo Red Wolves.

Saturday the boys were at home where they would take on the hungry Burlington Bulldogs. The first period was a stalement with neither team being able to put one in the net. Jake Taylor was on his game and ready to defend the Warriors net, until the Bulldogs slipped one by him late in the second period with 1:08 remaining.  Mason Bauld, Andrew Davis, Charlie Holloway, Nash McIlroy and Henry Flanagan were on their game defensively as they would limit the Bulldogs to less than 10 shots on their net. The game would continue to keep the crowd tense, until Hudsyn Chaput would tie the game at the 4:48 minute mark of the third period, on a nice feed from Finley Newton with the alternate assist belonging to Rem Hruden.  With 2:24 remaining, Andrew Davis would feed Hudsyn Chaput for the game winner and his second of the game for a final score of 2-1. Chaput was also awarded player of the game for his solid effort, but many Warriors could have easily been awarded the same title for their superior effort today, Mason Bauld and Finley Newton noteworthy of their great backchecking today!

On Sunday the crew would head to Waterloo to face a team that had beaten them 12-0 and 6-0 in their last 2 meetings, but the boys were prepared for much different result today. Maddyx Chaput would open the scoring for the Warriors early in the second period on a breakaway feed from Mason Bauld, with the 2nd assist going to Andrew Davis. Jake Taylor would keep the boys in the game, amusing the crowd as he made a stellar glove save! Liam Benton would add to the lead early in the third period with the helpers going to Maddyx Chaput and Owen Vangestal. Will Mckee, Rem Hruden, Finley Newton, Ethan Priestap Hudsyn Chaput played great, as they added immense pressure to the Wolves with their relentless forecheck. Waterloo would come close and add a single goal midway through the third frame and attempt to tie the game with the puck nearly crossing the goal line, but Hudsyn Chaput would sweep it away preserving the lead for the Warriors. Jake Taylor was awarded the player of the game for the Warriors as he would allow only 2 goals on the weekend.

The next action for the Warriors will see them face Hamilton and Waterloo here at home this upcoming weekend, in hopes of moving into the 4th playdown position.
