Warriors Runners up in Alliance MD Playdowns
The AJ Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD Warriors finished up their playdowns this past weekend losing two of three games to the North London Nationals.
Scoring was hard to come by in this series with the team scoring just six goals over the three games. On Friday night in the series opener, the Warriors lost 1-0. On Saturday, back in Stratford, the team bounced back with a 5-4 victory. After being down 1-0 at the end of the first period, the Warriors scored three second period goals. Ellis Schnurr, Rowan Smith and Owen Chambers scored with Sam Binns, Dylan Abel, Owen Chadwick and Liam Ollson getting the assists. Ollson and Matthew Benner scored third period goals and Abel and Logan Hallock had the helpers. On Sunday back in London, the Warriors lost 2-1. Abel scored at the three minute mark into the first period with Schnurr getting the assist. The Nationals scored two goals in the last half of the third period to win the game. Both Lachlan Stanley and Ryan McGill played steady all weekend for Stratford giving the team a chance. The next action for the Warriors is April 7-9 at the MD Championships in St. Catharines.
