Fresh Starts Helps Major Atom MD’s Start The Second Half Of The Season Off With A Bang
The Major Atom MD’s were looking forward to the second half of their season to start.  The recent reseeding of the teams in their division placed the Warriors in seventh place in the standings.  The Warriors knew this split would be a fresh start for them.

The Warriors first game was slated to play against the Burlington Bulldogs, but due to weather had to be rescheduled to a later date.  The second game of the new series had the Warriors up against the strong Woodstock Navy Vets. The Warriors knew they needed to get ahead of the Vets quickly.  The Warriors never anticipated that they would dominate the game-winning 8-2. Stratford’s goal scoring started late in the first when Wesley Patterson shot it past the Woodstock goalie after a pass from Joshua Steele. Tayler Cook added the second goal during a power play as he skated around the Vets defense with a beautiful shot.
In the second Liam Benton got his first of the game unassisted. Cook took advantage again on the power play to add his second of the game assisted by Black McIntosh. Fischer McPherson bounced a puck in the net to end the second unassisted, again taking advantage of another power play.
At the beginning of the third period, Benton added his second goal of the game to keep the Warriors rolling.  After taking a stick to the neck, Will McKee got back out there and got his vengeance by scoring another goal.  Benton ended the game with a “hatty”, scoring the last of Stratford’s goals. The game sheet shows 6 unassisted goals for Stratford, but the team knows it was a team effort that won the game.
