PLAYOFFS - EVERY GAME COUNTS, EVERY SHIFT COUNTS
The Minor Pewee MD All Equip Repair & Service Jr. Warriors had a big 4 point weekend at home, holding on to 1st Place in the Tier 1 - Playoffs.

Saturday evening the squad faced off against the Kitchener Rangers Blue on the Molson Pad. Warriors were off to a quick start with Logan Hallock winning the face off, line-mate Jordan Keane tipping the puck back, Hallock on a 1v1 nailing a top corner shot to make a fast 1-0 game. Five minutes later defencemen Luke Jackson picked up a puck at the point, skated down the boards completing a give and go with Liam Ollson, finishing a shot top left corner, making it a 2-0 game. Not wasting time, moments later Dylan Abel crashed the net to slide in a third goal for the Jr. Warriors ending the first period 3-0. The second period brought no goals for either side with both teams sitting on the heals of their skates watching bouncing pucks. Ollson banged in the final goal for the red-white-blue starting the third. The Jr. Warriors had a 6min time frame when the legs stop moving, passes weren't on point and the Rangers took advantage netting 3 goals but wasn't enough to steal the W from the Jr. Warriors.

Sunday the team took the Allman ice against their top opponent the Hamilton Huskies White, having falling to the dogs in regular season and once in playoffs the Pewee team was hungry to break the streak. Goaltender Lachlan Stanley got the call in net and played a fantastic game covering both posts, allowing no rebounds and holding the fort strong for the team. The boys came out solid with defencemen Nick Wagner grabbing a puck at the blue line, carrying it threw the dogs and riffling a shot, Hallock toe-dragged and flicked in the rebound with the Jr. Warriors taking a fast 1-0 lead. The boys had a quick end to end action the first period, Liam Eddleston had a solid game winning all 1v1 battles on the back end. Sammy Binns was a key player along the boards holding the much larger and stronger Huskies from advancing any pucks. The second period was on its way with good puck movement from the Jr. Warriors, tape to tape passes. Binns dug a puck out on the boards sending it to left-winger Jordan Keane, who sent a pass to centre-men Hallock, who fed right-winger Lukas Steele who blasted a low shot under the goaltenders blocker, giving the boys a 2-0 lead. Jackson had a consistent game pinching the boards, carrying the puck, giving offensive support. Defencemen Ellis Schnurr had a good game clearing the zone, making solid passes to the offence. The Huskies netted one starting the third. Warriors answered back with Hallock carrying a puck behind the net feeding Abel at the top of the circle who made a quick toe drag and blasted a shot past the goaltender, making it 3-1. With the home team in the lead the dogs bite got stronger but couldn't get past defencemen Adam Jeffrey who cleared bodies in-front of the net and around the boards helping secure the Jr. Warriors lead. The game finished with the Pewee Squad taking a HUGE W and holding on to their 1st place standings in playoffs!

Up Next: Saturday, March 2nd @ 5:15P.M vs. Brantford 99ers on the Molson Pad.
