Peewee Rep Warriors Split Final Two Regular Season Games
Submitted By Kate Treischl on Sunday, February 9, 2020
The ‘07 Major Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Scotiabank grabbed a win and loss to close out the regular season this weekend.

A mid-week tilt in Cambridge saw the Warriors earn a 4-3 victory on the road.  Blair Stokes opened the scoring with a rocket, assisted by Carter Petrie in first but Cambridge fought back in the second making it 1-1.  The home team looked to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty shot but netminder Zack Irvin shut down their shooter with a brilliant save.  Each team exchanged goals, with Griffin McGregor netting a feed from Colin Schultz to tie it 2-2, and then repeating himself off a pass from Petrie to make it 3-3. With both teams looking for the go ahead goal Stratford finally found the back of the net as Petrie fired one in, assisted by C.Schultz and Blair Stokes.

Saturday night the Warriors fell short to the Hamilton Huskies on home ice.  Hamilton opened the scoring despite strong work on the blue line from Rylan Hall and Aaron Green.  Stratford answered back with a power play goal in the second from C.Schultz, assisted by Griffin McGregor and Carter Petrie.  Hamilton nabbed 2 more to close out the game 3-1.

The boys expect to start playdown action shortly, as soon as all AA regular season games are complete.
