Peewee Rep Warriors Battle Hard In AA Semi-Finals
The ‘07 Major Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Scotiabank began their playdown semi finals against the London Jr. Knights White with a tie and a win this weekend.  Earning three points in the six point series.

Game one was a goal tenders dual in London with both netminders proving they were playoff ready.  It was a fast paced game that saw Zack Irvin making clutch saves for the duration. He was tested early by the London snipers and came up with a huge pad save to open the game.  It wasn’t until half way through the game that London got on the board, but Irvin closed out the second period with a spectacular sprawling save to hold them at one. Tremendous work on the blue line from Aaron Green, Blake Hodgson, Ryan Gansevles, Rylan Hall and Austin Musselman along with a killer blocked shot from Zack Schultz in the third held off London.  Finally mid-way through the third Stratford took advantage of a power play opportunity with Griffin McGregor netting one, assisted by Carter Petrie and Colin Schultz to tie the game. Overtime turned out to be a continued performance by both goalies with each team earning one point.

Sunday afternoon the boys hosted the Jr Knights at Duff Gardens. Again it was an end to end battle with the Warriors earning a 3-1 victory.  Stratford struck first with Griffin McGregor finding the back of the net off a feed from Carter Petrie and Blake Hodgson. Stratford took a brief 2-0 lead when Colin Schultz fired one in, assisted by McGregor and Petrie, but London fought back sliding one in to cut the lead in half.   The third period was filled with more quick action including Grady Murphy digging hard for the puck along the boards, feeding it to Dawson White who rifled it in for a 3-1 lead. It was another solid showing between the pipes from Irvin who held off the London attack from every angle. Stratford now holds a 3-1 lead in the six point series.
