Weekend games
Stratford U12 Royal Lepage/Hiller Realty Warriors opened their 2021/22 season with a win and a loss in their first 2 season games since Feb 2019.

On Saturday the Warriors travelled to Kitchener where they came out flat and surrendered a goal 6 seconds into the game.  Then next few shifts followed suit allowing Kitchener to build a 3-0 lead, 5 minutes into the game.  Period 2 and 3 were dominated by the Warriors who fought back and closed the gap to 3-2 on goals by Defenceman Nick Mcgill and Centerman Caleb Hurley.  The Warriors then ran into penalty trouble with 3 minutes remaining and were down 5 on 3.  A good kill, allowed a forth player back on the ice, but a squeaker made its way through the legs of the Warriors goaltender Bryson Boyne (who played very well in his first game as a Warrior) to make the final score 4-2 for Kitchener
On Sunday the Warriors hosted Woodstock at home and made sure not to repeat the beginning of Saturdays game.  Ethan Schmidt won the draw to winger Owen Hurley who scored 17 seconds into the game en route to a 8-2 final.  Hurley had 3 goals, while Schmidt and winger Luke Hishon had a pair each.  Assists went to Saunder Degraauw, Ryan Watling, Schmidt, and Hishon.  Mac Munroe got the win in net.  The warriors had a strong defensive effort from McGill, Liam Micks, Mason Cabral, Daxton Verspeeten, Carson Lubbers, and Cohen Bowles.
