The Minor Bantam Warriors are headed to the Silver Stick Finals in Newmarket with two more wins under their belt. On Thursday, the team travelled to London, where they defeated the Oakridge team 5 - 3. There was no scoring in the first period but the second ended tied at 2 on goals by Evan Metelski and Josh Hill. The team fell behind 3 - 2 early in the third but two quick goals by Liam Kelly and Sean Hood Tidman, with four minutes to go, put the Warrirors ahead. An empty netter by Greg Hansford sealed the deal. Hood Tidman, Hansford, Metelski also picked up assists, along with Wade Niezen, Nic Strangway, Owen McLeod, and Jared Prekup.
On Saturday, the team travelled to Burlington where they faced the rival Bulldogs. The team went up 2 - 0 early in the first, with Evan Metelski finding the net assisted by Sean Hood Tidman and Kieran WIntle, and Greg Hansford hitting the target on a feed from Owen McLeod. The Bulldogs tied the game with two quick goals at the end of the period. Three goals by the Warriors in the second made it 5 - 2. Liam Kelly had two goals on excellent passes from Evan Metelski and Greg Hansford. Hood Tidman got the third of the period on a pass from Josh Hill. The Bulldogs got one more in the third, but the Cherrey Bus Line Warriors added two more on goals by Hill, from Kelly and Hood Tidman. and Hansford from Kelly.
