The Stratford Motor Products Minor Midget MD team find themselves only two points out of second place after a win and a tie this past week. On Wednesday the Warriors pulled out to a 3-0 lead in the first period to the visiting London West with goals from John Yundt (unassisted), Jeff Wood assisted by Braden Varga and Ben Champion assisted by Jesse Way and Josiah Zein. The Warriors got into penalty trouble which allowed London to tie up the game with three goals of their own, two coming while Stratford was shorthanded. Matt Parkinson put Stratford ahead 4-3 scoring off a pass from Champion, however, London scored the game's final goal in the third resulting in a 4-4 draw.
On Sunday, the Warriors travelled to London to take on Oakridge. After a scoreless first period, Ben Champion scored his first of three on the night with assists going to Hayden Bulbrook and Jeff Wood. In the third period it was all Stratford as Sam Gerber finished off a nice passing sequence from line mates John Yundt and Brandon Morrow. Champion scored his second goal assisted by Bulbrook and Parkinson. Then with just over two minutes to play, Champion scored an unassisted goal to fire home the hat trick. Spencer Marsh, playing a strong game in goal for Stratford, earned the shutout giving the Warriors a 4-0 victory.
