Atom Warriors Lose a Close One in Waterloo
The Perth Auto Dismantlers major Atom Warriors dropped a hard fought 2-1 road loss to the Waterloo Wolves playing short three regulars Saturday.
Battling in front of an outstanding Carson Knott in goal, the Warriors finished the first period scoreless. Mitch LaFay opened the scoring midway through the second period potting a rebound off a Mason Petrie drive. However, the Wolves continued to forecheck hard and scored two unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
The Warriors pulled together in the final frame narrowly missing multiple chances to tie the game but came up just short. Forwards Aly McLeod and Adam Monteith backchecked hard while Tyler Pogson, Bryce Lee, Alex Cassone, and Cohen Lesouder competed fiercely on defence all afternoon. The Warriors gear up for the highly touted London Jr. Knights gold this Sunday evening at Allman arena.
