Atoms Finish With a Win
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Atoms finished off their regular season in winning fashion at home on Sunday. The Warriors hosted Cambridge in a match that would have playoff match-up consequences moving forward.
Stratford came out of the gate a little flat as Cambridge found the back of the net early in the first. That wake-up call would prove to be all the motivation Stratford would need, as they answered with six straight to secure the victory. Kaden Eybergen and Adam Windsor lead the way, as Eybergen picked up the hat trick and a helper, while Windsor had four assists. Other goal scorers included Aly McLeod, Noah Rusen-Steele and Mason Petrie. Assists were added by Ben Wyatt, Callan Ferguson, Tyler Pogson and Adam Monteith. Tyler Pogson and Cohen LeSouder were solid on the blue line while Ryan Bell shut the door when called upon.
The Warriors had a competitive season in the AA division, finishing off exactly where they began, tied for fourth in points. The first round of playoff action will find Stratford playing Hamilton in a best three of five game series. Stratford and Hamilton had matching records throughout the season which should set the stage for a close, competitive series.
